Songfacts®:

  • "Edge of Desire" is a collaborative house track by British DJ-producer Jonas Blue and Brazilian producer Malive. The record represents a creative homecoming for Jonas, whose move to Miami reconnected him with the club scene after years of mainstream pop success.
  • To capture the hypnotic longing of the title, Jonas aimed for an emotionally restrained, groove-heavy production. "I think every artist goes through cycles," he explained to Native Instruments. "For me, 'Edge of Desire' marked a moment where I wanted to reconnect with the sound that initially inspired me: house music."
  • Looking to soundtrack both late-night drives and Ibiza sunrises, Jonas enlisted Malive, whom he scouted on Instagram after hearing his track "Quintal" in an Adam Port DJ set, to help inject the track with raw percussion and melodic warmth.
  • The track's dual-vocals come courtesy of AR/CO, a London-based electronic duo comprising Leo Stannard and Australian singer-songwriter Mali-Koa Hood (sister of 5 Seconds of Summer's Calum Hood). The pair initially formed during the pandemic to write for other artists before stepping into the booth themselves. Both brought stellar credentials to the project; Stannard had previously teamed up with CamelPhat, while Hood's credits included work with G-Eazy and JP Cooper.
  • Released in July 2025, "Edge of Desire" grew organically through club play, DJ support, and social media. After becoming a staple for DJs from Ibiza to Tulum, the underground sleeper hit finally crossed over into the UK Official Singles Chart in May 2026.
