  • Josiah Queen is a Christian singer-songwriter who blends folk-pop melodies, acoustic instruments, and faith-based storytelling. His songs often feel personal and reflective, combining worship themes with a narrative style that draws on everyday life and spiritual experiences.
  • Both of Queen's parents are pastors, and faith was a constant presence in his childhood. When he was 9, his parents took him to a massive young adults' conference in Kansas City, where he "encountered God for the first time" in a way that changed his life. That experience inspired him to start writing songs that could communicate faith in an honest and relatable way.
  • His first instrument was the piano. "I would sit and open up the Psalms, and I would kind of just start singing those and making up songs, ripping off the Psalms," Queen told K-Love. "That's how I started working with melodies, starting at one Psalm and going all the way through during the summer with just the same four chords."
  • Before his breakout as a recording artist, Queen worked at a car wash while "fervently praying for a path" to take his bedroom songwriting into the professional world. At 16, he began posting songs on TikTok, where his heartfelt, acoustic performances quickly found an audience. His first official release, "God of Miracles," arrived in 2020.
  • His debut full-length album, The Prodigal, hit #1 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart, marking one of the biggest streaming debuts for a new artist in Christian music. His follow-up, Mt. Zion, continued in the folk/Christian-pop vein, and stretched beyond it.

"Man, I didn't know I made rock music, but let's go!" he told Billboard when the album not only topped Christian Albums but also landed on the Americana/Folk and Rock & Alternative charts.
  • Queen draws inspiration from artists like Rend Collective, Mumford & Sons, and Noah Kahan. He's passionate about acoustic and folk instrumentation and often experiments with textures and sounds that go beyond mainstream Christian music, giving his songs an organic and approachable feel.
  • Queen married his longtime girlfriend, Trinity Joy, in 2023 after three and a half years of long-distance dating. The two met as teenagers when Josiah visited her family's church in Iowa. Trinity often travels with him on tour and joins him onstage to preach or share devotionals.
