Songfacts®:

  • This song was inspired by Saint Vitus's dance, a dancing mania phenomenon experienced primarily in mainland Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries. During such outbreaks, groups of up to thousands of people would dance uncontrollably, screaming, shouting, and claiming to have visions until they collapsed from exhaustion.

Holter told Q magazine: "It's a little bit silly to have a song about that, but it's also about letting yourself go in this almost violent way."
