Songfacts®:

  • "Yukon" is a contemplative track where Justin Bieber croons about his love for his wife Hailey. He's fully on board for whatever she wants, whether they lead to a private, intimate moment or a carefree drive in a huge Yukon SUV, windows down, with the world fading away.
  • The Yukon is a full-size SUV made by GMC capable of hauling eight people, several sets of golf clubs, and possibly a small horse. It's long been a favorite of North American families, luxury car enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys commanding a vehicle roughly the size of a ski lodge.

Remember you used to drive a Yukon

Now, there's no public record of Hailey Bieber owning or driving a Yukon (she's more often seen in Range Rovers and Tesla Cybertrucks), but honestly, that's beside the point. The Yukon here is less about literal transportation and more a symbol of comfort, reliability, and the kind of love that stretches out like a smooth stretch of I-5.
  • Bieber's vocals are soft, layered, and slightly high-pitched, like he's singing to himself as much as to us. If it feels like something SZA might whisper into a sunset, that's because Carter Lang, one of her go-to collaborators, co-produced the track.
  • Eminem is one of the credited writers because Bieber interpolates a line from Em's 2010 track "Untitled" from Recovery (Deluxe Edition). The lyric in the first verse, "I can help you get a move on, like U-Haul," directly echoes Eminem's bar, "Get up, baby, get a move on like a U-Haul, you can rack your brain."
  • Also popping up in the back seat of this dreamy road trip is 2 Chainz, who contributes background vocals. You'll hear several of his ad-libs, including a "yaaaAAhh" in the track's final pre-chorus.
  • Bieber wore just shorts and socks to perform "Yukon" at the Grammy Awards in 2026 (the cameras got lots of shots of Hailey while he sang). The song was nominated for Best R&B Performance by lost to "Folded" by Kehlani.
