Songfacts®:

  • Raleigh, North Carolina-based singer-songwriter Justus Bennetts ditched his car salesperson job to become a full-time musician. After converting his laundry room into a home studio, Bennetts' singles "Nightstand" and "Real Life Sux" became TikTok hits. This song finds him hoping all the negative people in his life have a bad day.
  • Bennetts wrote the song with Doc Daniel, Jesse Fink, and Remy Gautreau. The singer explained to Genius that their rage isn't directed at any particular person. They wrote it "so the listener could put anyone they see fit into that position."

He added: "It's really about putting a middle finger up to all the people that ever did you wrong and doing whatever you want to do, because karma will do most of the work."
