Songfacts®:

  • Karmin are a duo made up of romantic partners Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, who were engaged at the time (they got married in 2016). They wrote this song about the effect their busy lifestyle has had on their relationship. "My favorite lyric is, 'We speak all day and never talk,'" said Heidermann. "We have a great working relationship, but there are times when we're working so hard that we realize, 'Wow, I haven't actually connected with you in, I don't know how many days.'"
  • The Karmin pair wrote the song with Los Angeles-based pop-rock singer-songwriter Laura Pergolizzi, whose other credits include Rihanna's "Cheers (Drink To That)" and Rita Ora's "Shine Ya Light."
