  • Hold on just a little bit longer
I know it's gonna be okay
These days are gonna make you stronger
You'll find purpose in the pain

At the tender age of five, Katy Nichole was diagnosed with scoliosis, a formidable condition that wreaks havoc on the spine, causing it to curve sideways. After a decade-long battle, the day of reckoning arrived as she underwent a transformative surgery to straighten her once-bent spine, but after the operation persistent pain continued to leave her in agony.

In Katy's darkest moments, the weight of despair bore down heavily upon her, and the haunting whispers of suicide beckoned her. Gripped by desperation, she found herself clutching a bottle of pills, contemplating a tragic end to her suffering. With trembling hands, she carried the bottle towards the bathroom, as if caught in a macabre dance with fate itself. But in a divine act of intervention, the pills slipped from her grasp and cascaded onto the floor, their contents spilled before her eyes.

In that precise moment, God said to her, "Hold on, I'm not done yet." Stirred by a surge of hope, Katy picked up those scattered pills and threw them into the trash can.

Months later, Katy beheld a breathtaking sight - a vibrant rainbow painted across the canvas of the sky. In that splendid moment, the colors of divine promise arched before her, reflecting the hues of hope, resilience, and God's faithfulness. "I took it as a sign from God that everything would be okay," she told New Release Today. "I knew at that moment that the words that I was holding on to, the Lord's words, would take me somewhere beautiful, and I trusted Him in that."
  • Nichole wrote "Hold On" with David Leonard (Cody Carnes' "Run To The Father," Brandon Lake's "This Is A Move"). The song is a resounding message of encouragement - a reminder that each life holds immeasurable worth and purpose. Nichole stirs us to embrace the divine purpose woven intricately within the fabric of our lives. To find the strength to persevere, to navigate the trials that lie before us, and to live out the purpose for which we have been uniquely crafted.
  • David Leonard co-produced the song with Brad King. Leonard and King comprise two-thirds of The Creak Music production outfit, which specializes in worship music.
  • Nichole recorded "Hold On" for her debut album, Jesus Changed My Life. Loaded with messages of grace, hope, and the transformative power of faith, the record stands as a testament to Katy's spiritual journey. "Jesus is constantly refining my heart," she shared. "Like a lot of the cries that are in the Psalms, when I find myself in a place of struggle, I turn back to Him. If Jesus could change my life then, He can change my life now."
