This is one of three new tracks included on Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, the re-released version of Perry's third studio album. The Tricky Stewart-produced dance-pop song finds Perry all sexed up. "Tonight I'm gonna come alive/ Make you forget about your nine to five/ Are you ready for your blood to rise?/ Tonight's the night I'm dressin' up for you," she sings.
This was originally written for the 2010 Teenage Dream album but didn't make the cut. However Stewart told MTV News its appropriate for the Confection re-release. "It definitely fits," he said. "It's right there in what her sensibilities are as a musician and a songwriter. She doesn't change much. She has a very keen musical taste. It'll be really good."
When "Nothin' On You" reached #1 on the Hot 100, B.o.B became the first American act whose name is a palindrome to top the chart. The other two who did so prior to the Atlanta rapper were both Scandinavian groups - ABBA and A-Ha.
"Islands in the Stream" was originally written by The Bee Gees as an R&B song. It was originally written by the brothers for Marvin Gaye, however it was recorded instead as a duet by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton with the Gibb Brothers also contributing vocals.
