Songfacts®:

  • This is the second Mr. Rager track that features guest vocals from Mary J. Blige. The duo originally talked about working together when they bumped into each other on a flight to New York. After Blige recorded the original track Cudi had in mind, which neither was sold on and "Don't Play This Song," which does feature on the record, she asked to hear even more of the album. Cudi played her this song and she laid down more vocals. He recalled to MTV News: "She didn't believe that I wanted her on any song that she wanted. When I was like, 'You can do this third joint,' she was like, 'Really, you want me on all three songs?' and I was like, 'Yeah, I want you on the whole album if you want to be.'"
