Songfacts®:

  • Labrinth is the lead composer for the HBO teen drama series Euphoria, which stars Zendaya as teenage drug addict Rue. After going to rehab, she relapses in the first season's finale and experiences a vivid, musical hallucination. This dark and epic duet between Labrinth and Zendaya plays during that scene.
  • Rue's drug addiction originated with her struggling to cope with the death of her father from cancer. She perceives her substance abuse coming from her love for her dad, but is also aware of her responsibilities to take care of her siblings. Both she and Labrinth see their family as priority and they'll do everything they can for them.
  • "All For Us" won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics in 2020.
  • Labrinth recorded a different interpretation of "All For Us" for his second studio album, Imagination & the Misfit Kid. That version takes on a different context without the drug-taking backstory and is more about his relationships with his loved ones.
  • The choir is Stevie Mac and the Essence. They also sing on two other Imagination & the Misfit Kid tracks, "Something's Got to Give" and "Miracle."
