Songfacts®:

  • Lyrically, this mid-tempo, quasi-metal tune is an update of much of Prince's '80s content, which combined the sacred and the sexual. "Follow me, don't be such a holy fool/ Follow me, I need something sacred from you," Gaga sings, before adding "Together we'll find a way/To make pure love work in a dirty way."
  • The "Electric Chapel" also features in the video for Gaga's single "Judas," where it's the place at which Gaga attempts to warn Christ of his apostle's impending betrayal.
