Songfacts®:

  • Over a vibey, laid-back beat, Latto ponders the question: Has she at last found someone she can truly love and trust?
  • If the chorus sounds familiar, that's because it directly interpolates Aaliyah's 1998 classic "Are You That Somebody?." Timbaland and the late Static Major, who wrote Aaliyah's original, are listed alongside Latto as the songwriters, making this more homage than heist.
  • The video, directed by Latto's sister Brooklyn Nikole, was filmed in Jamaica. We see Latto sunbathing on a bamboo raft, lounging by the shore, and generally swanning about tropical scenery while Jamaican DJ Popcaan plays her love interest.
  • The song's romantic subtext stirred curiosity about Latto's actual love life. She admitted to being in a committed relationship but remained evasive about who the lucky person is. Latto told Cosmopolitan in June 2023, "If something is special to me, I'm going to keep it close to me because everything else has to be front and center about my life."

She did, however, drop one eyebrow-raising detail: "I don't pay no bills."
  • Pooh Beatz, Go Grizzly, London Jae, Bryan Yepes, Rex Kudo, BassKid, and Bren produced the track.

Pooh Beatz and Go Grizzly have an established history of working with Latto. They both contributed significantly to her 2024 album Sugar Honey Iced Tea and also produced her hit single "Put It On Da Floor Again" (2023). Go Grizzly, in particular, helped shepherd the entire Sugar Honey Iced Tea project from initial concept to final polish.

London Jae, a stalwart of the Atlanta scene, adds his own flavor, while Rex Kudo, Bryan Yepes, BassKid, and Bren round things out with additional songwriting, instrumentation, and engineering touches.
