  • April 10, 1990
  • Born and raised in the central Texas town Arlington, Maren Morris lived there right up until she moved to Nashville in 2012 to pursue her country music dream.
  • Within six months of moving to Nashville, Morris had found herself a publisher. She received her first major credit when Tim McGraw recorded her song "Last Turn Home" for his 2014 Sundown Heaven Town album.
  • She self-released five songs as an eponymous extended play, Maren Morris, on Spotify in August 2015. The success of Morris' EP attracted the interest of major labels, and she was signed to Columbia Nashville in September 2015. Her first major-label album, Hero, was released the following year to much critical and commercial acclaim.
  • Morris was once roommates with Kree Harrison who finished as runner-up on the 12th season of Idol.
  • Maren Morris married fellow country singer Ryan Hurd in Nashville on March 24, 2018 before guests that included the bride's friend Cassadee Pope.

Morris wore a custom-made dress by local designer Cavanagh Baker, featuring a miniskirt in front and a long train in back. It was designed to pay homage to her mother Kellie's vintage wedding dress.
  • Morris has performed since the age of 10, when she would sing at chili cook-offs and festivals around Texas. "I would bring a boombox and a CD with karaoke tracks on it and sing from a truck bed," Morris recalled to Bustle. "But my dad bought me an acoustic guitar when I was 12 and taught me my first three chords. I taught myself the rest and then started writing on guitar shortly after that. So definitely picking up the guitar [was] when I felt like more than just a karaoke singer."
