Drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor (from Kerrang! magazine): "Brent (Hinds, vocals/guitar) came up with this riff and he was so stoned he could barely play because it was pretty bedazzling - hence the name. It has a weird sci-fi thing in the middle, too. Troy (Sanders, bass) came up with an awesome vocal line which really elevated the song."
Until December 5, 1998, a song had to be issued as a single to make the Hot 100. Aaliyah's "Try Again" was the first tune to top the chart based on airplay alone, without any sales figures being included.
If counterpoint and polyrhythms are your thing, you might love these guys. Even by Progressive Rock standards, they were one of the most intricate bands of the '70s. Then their lead singer gave us Bon Jovi.
