Songfacts®:

  • A "narco" is a person involved in organized crime or illegal drug trade relating to narcotics. Here, Offset states that he's trapping just as hard as such drug traders. Migos also draw a number of similarities with the Netflix original series, Narcos, which is based on the story of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
  • "Straight out the jungle," declares Quavo on the passionate hook. The lyric was inspired by a trip to South Africa, where Migos found themselves at a resort where they found monkeys walking right up to them. "We were just writing in the middle of, like, the jungle," Takeoff recalled to Rolling Stone. "Our backyard was, like, the trees."

He added:"[Quavo] saying 'straight out the jungle, straight out the jungle,' like on a Bob Marley kind of like Jamaican tip. We wouldn't have said that if we wasn't in the environment we was in."
