  • Miguel reflects back to a time when even though he was sleeping around, he would treat each woman he was bedding as if she was his only. "There was a moment in time where I was single and I had a few friends in different places," he explained to MTV News. "Just like, you know, when you're single you're kinda free to do whatever you want. And I had really good friends and I was being intimate [with them] and I understood that whoever she was — she probably had friends too. But in that moment of intimacy and the passion and all of that — I'm a Scorpio so I happen to be very passionate — I treat it like it's mine and I talk to her like it's mine. So in those moments of power and vulnerability, which is an interesting exchange, I wanna know that it's mine in that moment. And that's what the song is all about. I'm sure everyone out there can relate, man or woman."
  • Miguel admitted to Billboard magazine that this is not his girlfriend's favorite song. "That whole song was freestyle," he added. "What makes it interesting is the juxtaposition of ego and vulnerability. It's kind of rolled in this vulnerability, wanting to claim it - 'Tell me that it's mine' - but it's also out of this vulnerable need: 'I want to feel I'm the only one in this moment.' I've really been there. It felt like such an honest moment."
