This two-minute strum about the peril of being away from loved ones was penned by double bassist Ted Dwane. Banjo player Winston Marshall told The Sun: "That was written by Ted and captures how hard it is."
Dwane told Rolling Stone that the song, "is very much about being away and trying to keep sight of the one you've left behind."
"Cruise" climbed from 6-5 on the Hot 100 in its 34th week. In doing so it set a record for the slowest ascent to the Top 5 in the chart's history, which was beaten by Imagine Dragon's "Radioactive" 42-week clamber to #4 three weeks later.
