Songfacts®:

  • Nashville songwriters John Scott Sherrill and Steve Seskin wrote this song. Says Sherrill: "That was not from any deep personal experience, it was just a love song. By that point, I had gotten remarried and I wasn't as full of angst as I may have been a year earlier. It was pretty easy to write a happy love song with Steve Seskin - he's a happy kind of guy. He's terrific and jolly."
  • This was Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton's first dance song at their wedding on May 14, 2011. McCoy also performed at their nuptials along with several other country stars.

  • Tanya from TexasMy first true love John, just dedicated no doubt about it to me.. and it made tears of joy string down my face, as we've just rekindled our love after 36 years. I don't think he could have played me a better song than this.
