Songfacts®:

  • This song is about Nelly's intense fondness for Nike Air Jordans sneakers, and how disappointing it is when they get their first scuff. There's a definite Spike Lee influence on this song, as a memorable scene in Lee's movie Do The Right Thing takes place when a guy from the neighborhood gets his Jordans stepped on by a white dude, which sparks an incident. Nelly's video features a homage to this scene, and also to Spike Lee's role as "Mars Blackmon," where he appeared in commercials for Air Jordans.
  • This features singer Ciara and rapper Jermaine Dupri. The latter also produced the track. Ciara also worked with Dupri on Bow Wow's 2005 single "Like You."
