The Neon Trees are a Utah based Indie Rock quartet. After forming they upped sticks to a house in the Californian desert and embarked on an intensive nine-month stint of writing, rehearsing and recording. The period brought about a series of tough challenges and at one point each band member had some sort of breakdown. Lead vocalist Tyler Glenn explained to English newspaper The Sun: "We were all doing things that we shouldn't - things that we had long given up, whether it would be drugs or other things. I wrote 'Sins Of My Youth' about that year."
It really was so easy for Linda Ronstadt to score a hit with her Buddy Holly cover of "It's So Easy." She would sometimes change the lyric to: "It's so easy to have a hit, all you have to do is recycle it."
"Kickstart My Heart" is about all the ways Motley Crue gets their blood flowing without drugs. It was inspired by their bass player Nikki Sixx, who claimed he had to be revived with a shot of adrenaline to the heart after an overdose.
