Pry, To

Album: Vitalogy (1994)

Songfacts®:

  • Rappers weren't the only ones putting random, nonsensical interludes on their albums in the '90s. Pearl Jam did it on their third album, Vitalogy, with "Pry, To," where lead singer Eddie Vedder just repeats, "P-r-i-v-a-c-y is priceless to me" a few times over some unrefined music. The whole thing runs 1:02.

There's another one on the album as well: "Aye Davanita," which stretches to three minutes but is just some nonsense chanting.
  • The band put this together late in the sessions for Vitalogy, so they were probably a little loopy. It does serve notice that Pearl Jam music doesn't always have to be serious and affected. They can have goofy fun with the best of them.
