Songfacts®:

  • This country blues duet with Grammy award winner Shelby Lynne is the lead single from former J. Geils Band vocalist Peter Wolf's eighth solo album, Midnight Souvenirs.
  • Wolf told Billboard magazine about this, his first album for eight years: "I took a long time making this record. It just didn't seem like there was a need to rush. It's not a record that has a particular theme, other than there's something nocturnal about it, and I tried to keep it to the adventures that go on beyond the midnight hours. I think the songs pretty much capture them, so that's what it's sort of about."
  • Wolf wrote this song with his fellow Bostonian Angelo Petraglia, whose songs have been recorded by Kings of Leon. Petraglia told The Boston Globe: "Working with Wolf is always a gas. He always knows what he wants but he's always open to hear what's running around in my head. The vibe is always cool. Friends hangin' at his house surrounded by a lot of vintage gear - jammin', drinkin and listening to music."
