Songfacts®:

  • "Kiss Me Now" is a bright, poppy track from Pierce The Veil, written as a love letter by frontman Vic Fuentes to his wife, Danielle. The song's core message centers on the importance of embracing the present moment, especially in love and relationships.
  • The song hinges on a quote Fuentes keeps taped to his mental fridge:

"There will never be a perfect time for anything."

Fuentes wrote "Kiss Me Now" about his weakness of waiting for the perfect time, only to risk missing out entirely. The singer is a self-confessed over-thinker, and the song is a reminder to stop hesitating, surrender to the moment and plant the kiss.
  • Vic Fuentes started writing the song with his friend Josh Rheault, formerly of the band The Dear Hunter, in a cabin in Julian, California. He completed it with Pierce the Veil lead guitarist Tony Perry, and bassist Jaime Preciado.
  • Mutemath frontman Paul Meany, who also produced Pierce The Veil's 2023 album The Jaws of Life, helmed this song. They actually tracked "Kiss Me Now" during The Jaws Of Life sessions, then tucked it away "for a rainy day."

"I always loved that song, but we felt like The Jaws Of Life had too many slow songs, so it didn't make it onto the original album," said Fuentes.

Rain clouds duly gathered, and Pierce The Veil extracted it from the vault and released it on May 9, 2025 as a single from the deluxe edition of The Jaws Of Life.
  • "Kiss Me Now" is the first Pierce the Veil track with a recording credit for touring drummer Lionel "Lonnie" Robinson.
