Songfacts®:

  • This song features and was produced by Pitbull's mentor, Lil Jon.
  • This is built around two samples. One is from the 1990's Latin hit "El Africano" by Dominican musician Wilfrido Vargas. The other is a saxophone sample from the 2003 instrumental dance track "Calabria" by Danish producer and DJ Enur (also known as Rune RK or Artificial Funk).

This was not the first time "Calabria" had been sampled. In 2007 Alex Gaudino and Crystal Waters had a #4 hit in the UK with "Destination Calabria." This was a mash-up between the horns from "Calabria" and Crystal Water's vocals from Gaudino's "Destination Unknown."
