• The band's name stands for Payable On Death. It comes from a banking term that means when someone passes away, their belongings go to their heir. For the band, it refers to our sins being paid for when Jesus died - our life is our inheritance.
• P.O.D. refer to themselves as "a band made of Christians," not a Christian band. They write music for anyone and everyone - not just believers.
• They call their fans "Warriors" because they are so loyal.
• Some of their influences include U2, Run DMC, Bob Marley, Bad Brains and AC/DC.
• P.O.D. are from San Diego, in a place nicknamed the Southtown. They were already in other bands when they met, with Sandoval in Unlicensed Product and guitarist Marcos Curiel and drummer Wuv Bernardo in Eschatos (taken from a Greek word for "last" or "final," it appears often in the Biblical New Testament).
• P.O.D.'s original guitarist, Marcos Curiel, left the band in early 2003. He was replaced by Living Sacrifice's former guitar player, Jason Truby, who stuck around until 2006 before passing the role back to Curiel.
• Their fourth album, Satellite, was released on September 11, 2001, the day of the World Trade Center attack. The band were preparing to go to an album-release party when the news of the attacks hit. "I can honestly say that at that moment, the record didn't matter to me," frontman Sonny Sandoval said. "I forgot the record even existed."
  
  He believes the album's positive messaging and energy resonated with fans because of the tragedy, leading to it being one of their biggest hits.
• P.O.D. have sold a lot of records but decided early in their run to focus on the music they loved rather than what happened to be trendy at the moment. As Sandoval told Songfacts, "We're writing the music that we love to play. Part of the hiatus of the band was the politics and labels and the industry in general. You feel like you're not a four-piece anymore, you're a 2,500 piece, because everybody has their opinion. Hey, we're just this band that started in our garage in the 'hood and loved playing music for whoever would show up. And now it's become this business thing and it's like, you know what, we're going to make music and whoever comes out, comes out. And whatever records we sell, we sell. And we're grateful regardless."
• The band's eighth album, Murdered Love (2012), angered some of their Christian fanbase because it was full of f-bombs. Debates spread throughout the faithful community about whether or not profanity disqualifies one to minister.

  Also, P.O.D. broke down a lot of boundaries by playing alongside bands like Korn and Kid Rock- something a lot of people would question for a christian band.
• A Demon Hunter from Away From You :)P.O.D.'s vocalist Sonny has some of the coolest dreads EVAR! At performances, he often jumps in the air and his dreadlocks fly all over the place. AND IT'S AWESOME! Very inspirational too..
