Songfacts®:

  • Rebecca Black's sequel to her 2011 viral hit, "Friday," is another literal documentation of teenage life. The first line, "2 p.m., getting out of my bed, trying to get Friday out of my head," is one of several allusions to her breakthrough hit.
  • Rather than teaming up again the production company behind "Friday," ARK Music, this song found Black collaborating with Dave Days. The Alternative/Rock musician is best known for his YouTube channel featuring both his original songs and Pop-Punk covers and parodies of well-known hits. Days was the most-subscribed musician on YouTube in the early 2010s.
  • The video also makes several references to "Friday." It ends bizarrely with the arrest of a black male (portrayed as ARK Music producer Patrice Wilson), which some interpret as a shot at Black's former Svengali.
