Songfacts®:

  • This hard-rocking heartache anthem finds Riley Green lamenting the loss of a girlfriend.

She's probably in love by now, a girl like that don't stay lonely long
And I bet she's already found somebody else and he ain't doin' her wrong
Wouldn't do no good even if I could somehow track her down
She's probably in love by now

Green wistfully reflects his ex is likely already far out of reach.
  • Riley Green wrote "In Love By Now" with Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip and Marv Green in Nashville. He recalled: "We sat down, and I think I said something about writing a song that sounded like Shenandoah - a '90s country sounding song."
  • The sun-drenched video was filmed in the Central American country of Belize. The clip mirrors some aspects of the song but what is different is that Riley spots his ex at an oceanfront bar and takes the stage to sing allowing the possibility of a possible reconciliation.
  • The bar scenes were shot at a Belize outpost of Nashville's Losers Bar and Grill. "A buddy of mine runs the bar and he invited me down," Riley told Billboard. "It seemed like a great place to shoot a music video. We might have saved a little money too, filming in his bar."
