You Let Your Heart Go Too Fast

Album: Turn It Upside Down (1994)
Charted: 66 42

  • A track from the second Spin Doctors album, "You Let Your Heart Go Too Fast" is about Heather McKearnan, who was lead singer Chris Barron's girlfriend for a while. He wrote the song about when he and one of his friends both liked her at the same time. Heather was often assumed to be the subject of the Spin Doctors hit "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," but that song was about Barron's stepmother.

"Heather was not a 'Little Miss Can't Be Wrong' at all," he told Songfacts. "She was an extremely agreeable person and she and I didn't break up under acrimonious circumstances at all."
