Songfacts®:

  • The reggae-and-dub-based band Stick Figure was originally founded as a solo project by multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Scott Woodruff.

The group's moniker is a take on Woodruff's high school nickname. He first officially adopted the Stick Figure title while a freshman in college when submitting instrumental tracks to the Sublime Archive website.
  • Stick Figure shot their first ever music video for this Set in Stone track. The clip was filmed DIY-style in the Santa Cruz Mountains and Southern Californian beaches.
  • Scott Woodruff commented to Billboard magazine: "My favorite line from the song is 'In this jungle, we are all just animals, we're criminals, but we're innocent always.' As with a lot of Stick Figure music, this song builds on the theme of freeing your mind and escaping to a magical place and the video captures that and the beauty of this world."
