Songfacts®:

  • Sub Focus is the alter-ego of drum and bass artist Nick Douwma. This single became his most successful recording to date when it debuted at #23 on the UK singles chart. The Guildford musician had previously achieved higher chart ranks as a producer, having helmed Example's #3 charting song "Kickstarts."
  • The song features vocals from London-based singer-songwriter Alice Gold, whose debut album, Seven Rainbows was released on July 4, 2011. Douwma recalled to MusicRadar: "I'd been playing this one in my sets for a long time, and eventually vocalled it with Alice. I tried a few different vocals on it to start with, but her voice really took it to the next level and made it into a finished song."
  • This was one of the first songs that Douwma wrote for Torus. He told MusicRadar: "Something I'm known for is big, hooky lead lines, so that was something I definitely wanted to represent on the album."
