  • The founding members all played in different bands throughout Knoxville, Tennessee before coming together as The Used, which featured Tom Pappas on vocals. They decided John Davis was the better singer/songwriter, so Pappas took over bass with Davis the frontman. This is when they changed their name to Superdrag.
  • In 1999 after MTV and radio success, Pappas left the band to pursue Flesh Vehicle, and was replaced with Sam Powers (formally of Who Hit John, a Nashville power pop band).
  • In 2000, their guitarist, Brandon Fischer, left the band because he grew tired of touring. He wasn't replaced until 2001, when former Faults singer/guitarist Mic Harrison came along.
  • The band went on a hiatus in 2003 after John Davis went on to pursue a solo career in Christian rock music. They've reunited a few times since.
  • John Davis has been in many groups including Punch Wagon, The Used and Flesh Vehicle. He has also been a session player for Alison Moorer and William Shatner.
