Songfacts®:

  • Lars Iversen of The Asteroids Galaxy Tour usually writes the lyrics after coming up with the groove for the song, but this was an exception. Lars Danish, and the distinctly American title made an impression on him when he heard it. Says Lars: "Somehow I heard this expression, 'push the envelope,' and it was fabulous, it sounds amazing. And instantly I just heard this kind of crazy song that was called that, and had that line as a chorus line, as a hook line. And I built the whole song around that line."
