Shake With Me

Album: Ride Again (1964)

  • Credited to Peter Jacobs (i.e. Joe Meek), this 1964 Outlaws B-side was called the first heavy metal song by the DJ John Peel. It was only fitting that future great Ritchie Blackmore should play lead guitar on it, although rather than heavy metal, it has a psychedelic feel. The A-side was a cover version of "Keep A-Knockin'."

The Outlaws are not to be confused with any later American group of the same name. >>
