  • Tano Jones of The Tano Jones Revelry describes "Daisy" as "a song about love and no rules."

He adds: "For many generations, there were norms for what attraction and love look like. You can look worldwide and see those conventions. I'm thinking of this one particular gal 'Daisy' who's gregarious. She's a breath of fresh air, and she wants to get the most out of every day. The social construct of who will initiate courting doesn't matter to her. She has a joy and will make the first move. It's about seizing the day and being a force of nature."
  • "Daisy" is part of the Spinning North album, which Tano Jones started working on in 2020 before COVID hit. Many of the songs took while to come to fruition, transforming along the way, but "Daisy" stayed fresh.

"I wrote it quickly, I recorded it quickly, and it was fun, it was a joy," Tano Jones told Songfacts. "It was one of those tunes that just went down very easily."
  • Andy Patalan from the band Sponge played piano on the song and produced it with Tano Jones. He and Jones are both from Detroit and have been on the music scene there for decades.
