  • Bora from IstanbulThe song which is heard in the background is 70’s Turkish arabesque-pop song “Ben gene sana vurgunum” music by Ali Kocatepe, composed by Osman men and sung by Nükhet Duru. Lyrics are by Sabahattin Ali, which in fact a poem. Sabahattin wrote the poem in 1931 for his unanswered love to Ms. Nahit Faratl (several famous Turkish poets fall in love with her). The song appeared in Duru’s Melankoli album (LP) in 1978.

The translation of lyrics (Ben gene sana vurgunum) is below:
Each of my days lasts years
    (I’m) Tired of going alone
Don’t take it like I am sore about you
I am, again, stuck on you.

Even I have smiled at the others
Even I have been put away from you
Even I have known you don’t love me
I am, again, stuck on you

    Refused, jolted
Doomed on the day I have born
    Have trusted on only you
I am, again, stuck on you
