  • Written by Zombies keyboard player Rod Argent, "Love You While I Can" recalls that flash of connection between a couple. Argent says it's about "when you have the sudden realization that the relationship you've embarked on is going to develop into something special - you somehow know for sure that this time it's for real - the one that could last for life! - and that without any question, and without even having to talk about it, you both share the feeling!"
  • This song was written for their managers, Chris and Cindy, who were getting married. The plan was for lead singer Colin Blunstone to sing it at their wedding, but he chickened out. "I found most of these songs quite easy to get into, but the one song that I found really challenging, and I'm embarrassed to say this, but I struggled on 'Love You While I Can' and I didn't feel confident enough to sing it at their wedding," he said on the Songfacts Podcast. "So we sang 'This Will Be Our Year' because we felt quite secure about that as an old classic track from Odessey And Oracle. So they still got a performance, but they got a different song."
  • The Zombies released this song on Valentine's Day as the second single from their album Different Game. The album was waylaid by the pandemic, but after lockdown the band got back together - in person - and completed it. Unlike many acts, they didn't do any remote recording. They did do a livestream though, previewing the song in 2021 at a concert from Abbey Road Studios that kicked off their subsequent Life Is A Merry-Go-Round tour.
  • The Zombies were enjoying a resurgence around this time. They had already broken up when their album Odessey And Oracle took off in 1968 with the hit "Time Of The Season." Rod Argent and lead singer Colin Blunstone reactivated the band in the early '00s, and they started making music again. In the next decade, they got a lot of plaudits not just for their new music but for their '60s output, which many musicians cited as an influence. In 2019, they entered the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and also toured with Brian Wilson.
  • The group nearly became walking dead when their tour bus broke down in the Arizona desert while they were on tour in the summer of 2022. They made it out alive, and a photo from the incident ended up on the cover of the Different Game album.
