Songfacts®:

  • This nostalgic Mark Irwin, Josh Kear and Andrew Dorff penned song was the first track McGraw found for Two Lanes of Freedom. The same trio of songwriters later contributed "Friend of a Friend" to the set.
  • McGraw told Billboard magazine that he didn't have the luxury of tinted windows in his youth. "I couldn't afford tinted windows with my truck I was lucky to have any windows," he said. "It just talks about your first love, and there's a twist at the end of it. It's about maturing in your life, and all the things that happen with that."
