Schmit recorded Expando entirely at his home studio near Los Angeles, during breaks from touring with the Eagles. It features musicians hand-picked by him, including on this track blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd on lead guitar, Benmont Tench of the Heartbreakers on organ, and Graham Nash on background vocals.
