Songfacts®:

  • Here, Tom Grennan sings of his regrets about breaking up with a girl. Now he's missing her love and wants to rekindle their romance. "Little Bit Of Love' is all about the mental struggle of moving on, or going back to a relationship," Grennan explained of the song.
  • Grennan wrote the song with:

Peter "Lostboy" Rycroft, whose other credits include Zedd and Kehlani's "Good Thing" and Little Mix's "Gloves Up." He also played guitar and piano on "Little Bit Of Love."

Longtime Liam Payne collaborators, Jamie Scott, Daniel Bryer and Mike Needle.

Scott, Bryer and LostBoy also produced the track.
  • Tom Grennan recorded the song for his second album, Evering Road, releasing it as his fourth single on January 8, 2021. Discussing the themes behind the album, Greenan said: "This album has been such a therapeutic experience, it has helped me through one of the toughest times of my life. Evering Road documents a transitional stage for me, where I felt I've learnt so much and grown into a new man, moving myself into a new calm and positive space."
  • Grennan recruited his pal Keane Shaw to direct the video. They zeroed in on the song's message of wanting to feel love and be loved by telling the story of two brothers. Shaw explained:

"Instead of looking at the lyrics from a romantic perspective, I chose to look at them from somebody asking to be loved, supported, cared for, in particular a male.

Being a very close friend of Tom's, often we've discussed the issue of toxic masculinity. Being brought up in working class areas where traits of this nature live strong, at some point in our lives we've both witnessed the phrase, 'boys will boys' playing out.

We wanted to work this narrative into the film by using a semi-autobiographical thread of Tom's real relationship with his little brother. Played by the amazing Luke Kelly, a young child who's only worry in life is to learn how to swim."
