  • Vincent Mason grew up in Roswell, Georgia, raised by an interior designer father who owns his own firm, and a pediatric dentist mother.
  • Before music took over, Mason was a dedicated athlete throughout school. "I was always walking around the halls, singing," Mason told Billboard. "My teachers tried to sign me up for choir a few times, but I would just play football and basketball instead."
  • Mason's parents weren't country music fans, so he found the genre entirely on his own during middle and high school. "I thought, 'Oh, country songs are catchy and happy,'" he told Billboard, before discovering the other side of the coin through John Mayer's heartbroken, deep-thoughts singer-songwriter material.
  • Mason started writing songs as a 19-year-old college student at the University of Mississippi during the pandemic, not sure if anyone would ever hear them. When he told his parents he didn't feel excited about returning to university, it was his mother who pushed him to act on it right away. "My mom said, 'No, you said it, so you've got to do it right now,'" he recalled to Attwood Magazine.

Within days he had transferred to Lipscomb University in Nashville, enrolling in their brand-new music program just six days before the semester started - a move he described as feeling "like a God thing."
  • Mason has built a reputation as Nashville's "Heartbreak Kid," a nickname bestowed on him by fans who connected with his string of confessional breakup songs. Rather than shying away from the label, he has embraced it. His debut album, There I Go (2025), is a 14-track exploration of romantic near-misses, bar nights, and the emotional wreckage of young love.
  • His breakout moment came with "Hell Is A Dance Floor," which became RIAA Gold certified. The song established his signature blend of soft, conversational vocals set against rock-leaning production.
  • Mason spent three years developing There I Go alongside producer Jake Gear, husband of country singer Hailey Whitters. The pair refined the material carefully before Mason signed with MCA Nashville/Music Soup/Interscope Records. The album was released on November 7, 2025.
  • Mason performed the There I Go track "Damned If I Do" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2026, a milestone appearance for the rising country artist. The song became his first Hot 100 entry the same month.
