Songfacts®:

  • This midtempo ballad is the second single from American pop-punk band We The Kings second studio album, Smile Kid. The song features guest vocals from Sonny with a Chance actress Demi Lovato. The band's lead singer, Travis Clark, explained to Rush On Rock why they hooked up with the Disney star: "She's been a really good friend of ours for the past couple of years and I wrote the song on piano that I felt needed a female vocal line. That same week I heard her sing the national anthem at an American football and it was incredible. I was like 'whoa, this girl can actually sing' and she's not just a Disney star, I asked her if she wanted to be on the record and she'd been a huge fan of the band so it just made sense. We had her at studio, she recorded her vocal part and when we got the mixes back it just sounded incredible."
  • Lovato also appears in the song's music video, in which she and the band play a gig for a group of teenagers at a party in the woods. The clip was shot in Elysian Park in Los Angeles.
