Songfacts®:

  • Bassist Scott Shriner described this to Buzznet as "another kickass, classic Weezer-sounding song, where we're trying to get in touch with that side of us, which I think we kind of lost on [2006's] Make Believe. That causing-trouble mentality."
  • This song is based on the sonata form, which is typical of the first movement of a sonata or symphony.
  • This was formerly known as "Daydreamer."

  • Rotunda from Tulsa, OkWhen the "Red Album" came out I loved all the songs on it. But "Dreamin" has such a compelling melody---and the lyrics are perfecto. Last weekend me & my hubby held a Yard Sale & he whipped out his CD of "The Red Album" and played it. We had plenty of customers who remembered the album & were Weezer fans!!! Surprise surprise! And "Dreamin" had a lot of people humming & singing along to it. My dear hubby "Mr. Good Body" thought some of the people were off their rockers. Anyway I love this song. And I love the lead vocals on this track. Rock it, Weezer!
  • Ashley from Tonopah, AzI totally agree with Fatima. I love this song!
  • Fatima from Norfolk, VaLove this song!
One of the best on the album.
