Flesh And Blood

Album: Shadows & Light (1992)
  • This is perhaps the most personal song released by Wilson Phillips, and it clearly refers to Carnie and Wendy Wilson's distant and strained relationship with their father, Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson, who long suffered mental problems stemming from childhood trauma inflicted by his abusive father. On the bright side, Brian Wilson eventually recovered and he and his daughters reconciled, sometimes performing together. >>
