Songfacts®:

  • This song was co-written by Andy Pyle and the time serving Andy Powell. In the band's official biography, Pyle says he wrote a song called "Strange Affair" prior to his association with the band but told Powell that if he wanted to use it, it needed to be revamped.
  • Powell said the song is "a classic example of how a demo which sounded like a Roger Whitaker outtake could be transformed into a very credible rocker".
  • Originally, the song featured a 4 piece brass section but the band were told by their record label IRS to get rid of this.
  • The Strange Affair album was recorded at Ivy Lane Farm, Buckinghamshire, and is the only Wishbone Ash album to feature 2 different drummers. >>
