  • This is the sleeve from "Heartbeat - It's a Love Beat," which was the DeFranco Family's first single. This might be the first time an artist established a fan club before releasing a song. We wonder what Tony's love letter was all about. (thanks to Kent at the Forgotten Hits newsletter for the image)

Two months later on September 2nd, 1973 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #81; and on November 11th, 1973 it peaked at #3 (for 1 week) and spent 17 weeks on the Top 100...
It also reached #3 on the Canadian RPM 100 Singles chart...
The week it was at #3 on the Top 100, the #1 record was "Keep On Truckin'" by Eddie Kendricks and at #2 was "Midnight Train To Georgia" by Gladys Knight and the Pips...
As already stated the family group had two other records make the Top 100; "Abra-Ca-Dabra" (peaked at #32) and "Save The Last Dance For Me" (reached #18).
  • Terry from Va.beach, Vathe ultimate 70's bubble gum, but it is addicting..i was 14 when it came out and it was a big hit.still like it to this day
  • Scotty from Cheyenne, WyYeah, Tony may have been a Donny Osmond clone, and the song is basic 70's schmaltz, but I can never get over how clear and beautiful the backing vocals are, especially the girls. It makes this worth listening to.
  • David from Youngstown, OhCorny doesn't even begin to describe the DeFranco Family or this song. They made the Osmonds look like a street gang.
