• Whatimean from CanadaIt's NOT a song about women getting pregnant in order to collect government money. It's about women who fall in love only to fall out of love. The "baby" in the song is a reference to men ("Honey", "Baby", "Sweetie Doll" etc.). While she's so into herself "catching tan", she's out on the prowl looking for her next "baby". But she then she wonders why she feels lonely: "She leads a lonely life"
• Heidi from DenmarkAs a Danish woman who has always lived in Denmark, I have never heard of girls who wanted children in order to receive welfare benefits. It is a very condescending and baseless claim from someone who is clearly not Danish or Scandinavian.
  Yes, Danes receive child benefits, but it is regardless of whether they are single or a couple. - This applies to all of Scandinavia (incl. Sweden) - and large parts of Europe, if not all of Europe.
  So stop shaming Danish women!
• Ally from AustraliaThis song is very obviously about a woman who is only after one-night stands. She is not looking to have another actual baby! If she had children at home, why would she lead lonely life and how would she travel and work and lie about on beaches??? Yes, lots of guys would have no strings-attached hookups but those are not the ones she values. She wants the men who are looking for a relationship (which describes most hetero single men when a beautiful, intelligent woman comes along). Sounds like she's deliberately dishonest & trying to hurt them, so it seems like maybe she herself was hurt in the past.

The lyrics state, "the morning means goodbye", so clearly we know the protagonist is not looking for any kind of boyfriend or even a repeat sex partner. Now if all she wanted were a one-night stand and nothing else, why would she be "the hunter" and why would the listener be told to "beware"? Lots of guys would be happy to have a hookup with no strings attached, there would be no need to "hunt" for that as a woman. The only logical interpretation for why she would have to hunt for a sex partner who would have to "beware" is if she were looking to seduce someone into getting her pregnant. Q.E.D.

• Johnnywb from UsaI never really liked this song very much. I didn't hate it but it was just so sugar poppish and I thought the lead singer was a boy. Reminded me of Donny Osmand or David Cassidy. Now that I know the truth I like it better. It makes more sense as an American. I mean a baby is a baby. A newborn infant. You can call your gf or bf baby or my baby but not A BABY. There's a difference. It is still a sugar pop song though.

• Bsharp from Columbus, OhI'm here to comment about the ambiguous lyrics. I've done a poll and most Europeans think "another baby" means another boyfriend. Most Americans think it means another child. In native vernacular English "my baby" can mean a romantic interest but not "a baby". But in ESL, second language English speakers often accept that "a baby" can mean romantic interest also.
  
  Since Ace of Base is Swedish and singing in ESL I guess they just meant "another baby" to mean another boyfriend. But it is a more interesting song the other way.

Believe there a hand full of people live their lives in this matter, which is unfortunate and dangerous both spiritually and physically.
