Dance With The Devil

  • Here I stand, helpless and left for dead
Close your eyes, so many days go by
    Easy to find what's wrong
    Harder to find what's right

I believe in you, I can show you that
I can see right through all your empty lies
I won't stay long, in this world so wrong

Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight
Don't you dare look at him in the eye
As we dance with the devil tonight

    Trembling, crawling across my skin
    Feeling your cold dead eyes
    Stealing the life of mine

I believe in you, I can show you that
I can see right through all your empty lies
I won't last long, in this world so wrong

Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight
Don't you dare look at him in the eye
As we dance with the devil tonight

    Hold on, hold on

Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight
Don't you dare look at him in the eye
As we dance with the devil tonight

    Hold on, hold on

  • Corinne from United States, Smithfeild VirginiaI love this song, it's so deep and I can relate to it so much.

My favorite part is at the end when it says "hold on" and then "goodbye." To break down the song, to me it means that he is slowly dieing and his soul is being taken by the devil, because he has sinned.
  • Violet from Orlando, Flthis song is so deep. i would have never thought about most of that. it makes me cry. lol im a baby. now when i do something risky, im gonna say itime for me to dance with the devil.
  • Brady from Niagara Falls, NyIntroduced to this group by friends, Mark and Dayna they are going to see them in Toronto with Nickelback in April of 2010 Great sounds
  • Shawn from Prescott, AzHe and his friends are fighting a lost war.
they are going to go down In a blaze of glory.
.probly to give every one a chance to run.
He says hold on tonight that line makes me think that he and his friends are going to sacrifice them selfs to save the last of the human population. going to fight one more battle before the end.if you have played gears of war 2.thats the kind of battle It makes me think about.
  • Jonathan from Lakeport, CaI believe it simply is a song of internal struggle. and he is refering to the moments when nomatter what you do it seems to all go wrong. think of a friend you had and they always were "in trouble" because they didnt walk the same line as the other kids. yes, its almost a tribute to you "wild kids." but thats my view.
  • Brianna from Quincy, IlThis song is very personal for me. When I first heard it, I froze, cried and told my fiancé all about it. I wrote it all down and "broke down" the lyrics.
"Here I stand helpless and left for dead"- here I stand in the presence of my enemy (my addiction), I am helpless, and going to die soon.
"Close your eyes so many days go by .Easy to find what's wrong, Harder to find what's right"
When im am so far into my drugs, it's like my eyes are closed. So easy to find...and do what's wrong, tough to understand what the right thing to do is.
"I believe in you ,I can show you that ,I can see right through All your empty lies ,I won't stay long ,In this world so wrong" This here is my fiancé talking to me. Self explanatory. He wont stay long (in my world) with me like this.
"Say goodbye As we dance with the devil tonight .Don't you dare look at him in the eye .As we dance with the devil tonight" Dancing with the devil basically means...the act of doing the drug or smoking. It tells me to say goodbye, and don't look the "devil" in the eye (or else you might choose not to do it). This part is like someone or something yelling at me saying "DO IT! DO IT!.............but say goodbye to reality and the one you love."
"Trembling ,Crawling across my skin ,Feeling your cold dead eyes Stealing the life of mine '
Perhaps, my love (fiancé) caught me doing it.
The chorus comes in again and I feel it is my fiancé reassuring me that ill be ok. And telling me once again that, one more time...and he's outta here.
It ends with "hold on, Hold on". Pushing me further, an ending to the "dance". I will hold on and proudly have for 5 months and some odd days! =D
    I still LOVE this song.

  • Brianna from Quincy, Ilthat last wasnt supposed to be about this song...
  • Brianna from Quincy, IlThis ones pretty self explanatory. A LOT of people are going on an apparently violent riot to prove a strong point of theirs. The "leader" of this riot believes he is the savior of whatever cause they are rioting for. The "leader" says he is a sinner tonight so that's how I figured it was violent. Not to mention...on the cd case (the albums called Ten Thousand Fists) there are a bunch of angry looking people with weapons. On this site someone had said, it is just a stupid song about the pleasure of performing in front of a large crowd. That is WAY wrong. I Love this song and, personally, I love to "rock out" to it =P
  • Blake from Chico, CaI think this song is about fighting with something (possibly a sickness) and trying to help someone else who is having the same fight, but in the end everyone has to fight their own battle.
  • Ms. C from N.y.b, Israelan amazing song!
  • Sean from Atl, GaI personally think think this song says that he is trying to commit suicide ( " I won't stay long in this world so wrong"; I can see right thru all your empty lies"), but the other comments can also work too
  • Anthony from Sterling Heights, Mivthis songs meaning and message is this....about a mans conscious decision to go into the pit of despair and darkness and attempt to bring goodness where its needed. hes on a mission to help the sick. the sick that are already dancing with the devil. so hes going to that world now....hes going there because you cant help from the sidelines....you cant heal anyone thats not in a hospital. and he offers some insight to stay out of the devils grip. heres some quotes to back my theory up............"dont you dare look at him(the devil) in the eye"................"no i wont stay long in this world so wrong"..................
  • Nick from Cleveland, OhI saw them in concert and the lead singer said the song was about various vices in life, risk taking, abandoning reason and logic and just doing anything, like the song says, he wants to dance with the devil tonight, maybe it is a jab at people who stay in line and do what they are told.
  • Doug from New York, Nyi think this song isnt that broad it may be more specific. i think its about a mans fight with death itself and his attepmt of surviving the brink of dying even though he knows he will fail. his conversation with death basically
  • Cvas from Ridgefield, CtVery good song. Easily one of BB's best.
