  • Laura from EnglandReally great film just got forgotten about
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn February 6th 1987, the Tristar Pictures movie 'Light of Day' opened in theaters across the U.S.A.
And nine days later on February 15th, 1987 the song "Light of Day" by the Barbusters {Joan Jett & the Blackhearts} entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #96; and six weeks later on March 29th, 1987 it peaked at #33 {for 1 week}...
On April 12th, 1987 the song was at #36 on the Top 100, and on the very same day Bruce performed the song live for the first time at an unannounced appearance at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.
  • Ed from Canton, OhI loved this movie. I watched it about 50 times that year.
  • Derek from Great Barrington, MaRight on, Mark from Madison.
  • Mark from Madison, WiName one person who rocks harder than Bruce when he screams "I GOT THROWN OUTTA WORK DOWN IN KOKOMO - DON'T ASK ME WHAT I'M DOIN', I DON'T KNOW..."
  • Malicious Matt from SquatneyAwesome song, and one of my favourite movies too! The song fit the movie and "The Barbusters" perfectly. The movie of the same name is, IMO, one of the best rock n' roll films ever because it shows reality and what the music really means to real people, rather than some glamourous, decadent fantasy. If you truly love rock n' roll, or have played in a band professionally, that means a lot. (Sorry if this post seems to be more about the movie than the song! ;-)
  • Joe from Hamilton, OhThe bar in Cleveland where Fox and Jett perform this song is called the Euclid Tavern. On the wall in the men's room someone wrote "Michael J. Fox smokes butt hairs." Underneath, it was written "Filter tips only. Michael J. Fox" It's not there anymore.
  • Garrett from Nashville, TnMaybe his most underrated song.
    A concert high point.
