  • Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl
Let me make your broken heart like new
Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl
Don't you know this lonely boy loves you

Ever since he broke your heart you seem so lost
Each time you pass my way
Oh, how I long to take your hand
And say don't cry, I'll kiss your tears away

Hey there lonely girl, my lonely girl
Let me make your broken heart like new
Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl
Don't you know this lonely boy loves you

You think that only his two lips can kiss your lips
And make your heart stand still
But once you're in my arms you'll see
No one can kiss your lips the way I will
    The way I will

Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl
Let me make your broken heart like new

Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl
Don't you know this lonely boy loves you
Don't you know this lonely boy loves you
    You

  • Sue from LancashireA beautiful song.
  • Mark From Earth from Earth@Jason...I got a song fact for ya, this is a cover of a song written in 1963 with licensing permission. Wasn't that rare that a singer would change gender descriptive words to fit their versions. So there's no way a "shady producer" could "give" the song to Holmans people since he didn't own it. So...no credit. Sorry dude.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn December 21st 1969, "Hey There Lonely Girl" by the Eddie Holman entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on February 15th, 1970 it peaked at #2 (for 1 week) and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100...
It reached #4 on the United Kingdom'S Singles chart...
The one week it was at #2, the #1 record was "Thank You (Falettin Me Be Mice Elf Agin)" by Sly and the Family Stone...
And on September 7th, 1980 Robert John's covered version peaked at #31 for one week on the Top 100...
Mr. Holman will celebrate his 68th birthday come next June 3rd.
  • Jason from Grand Marsh, WiI got a song fact for ya,the song Lonely Girl was stolen from my father around 1968 he recorded it and i will post the producer and more info when i dig out the original recording,it is possible that Mr. Holman doesnt know that his rendition of the song was actually produced and put on record prior to his release,as far as im aware the only people who knew were members of my family and the shadey producer who gave the original to Holmans people,my one wish would be to see credit given to a classic.
  • Ken from Brighton, MiOne of the greatest R&B songs ever song. Eddie Holman had an unbelievable vocal range.
  • Bill from Originally Toledo, OhWhere is he now? Great song - lots of memories.
  • Guy from Woodinville, WaA lovely, lovely R&B One-Hit Wonder.
