  • From a phone booth in Vegas, Jessie calls at Five a m
to tell me how she's tired of all of them
She says, "Baby, I've been thinking 'bout a trailer by the sea
We could go to Mexico, you, the cat and me
We'll drink tequila and look for seashells
    Now, doesn't that sound sweet?"
Jessie, you always do this every time I get back on my feet

Jessie, paint your pictures 'bout how it's gonna be
By now I should know better, your dreams are never free
But tell me all about our little trailer by the sea
Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me
Oh, Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me

She asks me how the cat's been
I say, "Moses, he's just fine, but he used to think about you all the time
We fin'ly took your pictures down off the wall
Jessie, how do you always seem to know just when to call?"
She sings, "Get yourself together Bring Mose and drive real fast"
And I listen to her promise I swear to God this time it's gonna last

Jessie, paint your pictures 'bout how it's gonna be
By now I should know better, your dreams are never free
But tell me all about our little trailer by the sea
Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me
Oh, Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me
Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me

I love you in the sunshine, lay you down in the warm white sand
And who knows, maybe this time things'll turn out just the way you planned

Jessie, paint your pictures 'bout how it's gonna be
By now I should know better, your dreams are never free
But tell me all about our little trailer by the sea
Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me
Oh, Jessie, you can always sell any dream to me Writer/s: Joshua Kadison

  • Vegas Girl from Las VegasSorry Thom, you are wrong. Even Wikipedia says Joshua Kadison wrote the song Jessie
  • Anna from Albany, New YorkJoshua Kadison sang 'Jessie' at the Albany, NY Marriott Hotel back in 1992 or 1993. This song became a hit soon after! I remember he wore jeans with a white shirt and blazer while sitting at the piano. We spoke for a few seconds before he sat down to play! I remember he was very handsome, and he had that gorgeous long hair that I love. He was super sexy. Joshua has an amazing voice, and I don't think he got the credit that he deserved. The world misses him and he needs to create more beautiful music!
  • Joseph from Kuranta Village Modjadji South AfricaI like the song very much and my family also do. I termed the song 'Family Anthem' because we are used to play the song whenever we have family outings. There are rich memories about the song. Myself, my wife, Beverly and Confidence like this song very much.
  • Thom Is An Idiot from ParadiseThom, Joshua wrote this song. He did not 'buy' it from anyone.
  • Oms from Pretoria One of the best love song ever...train smash
  • Dios Moagi from TzaneenI love this song with all my heart. Through the years I have believed that when a song is written and performed straight from the heart, somehow will connect with the audience deeply and more spiritually no matter what!
  • Thom from 37188, TnRachel,
You are misinformed with rumor. Kadison did not write the song...he bought it from the original writer. The Sarah Jessica Parker thing is a myth as well. It was the original writer's girlfriend, named Jesse as well.
  • Leigh from Cape Town, South AfricaGosh Paul,I am so sad to hear that! I have always loved this song and never knew it was written for Sarah, or that they were in fact ever together. I am a HUGE fan of Joshua, and was interested to see that he is a fellow Aquarian and of Native American decent. I really hope things have improved for you and that maybe now you have found someone who will stay, or has stayed? Would love to hear from you, not sure how long ago you posted your comment tho :)
  • Steve from Long Islan D N.y., Nyi think we all have been hit by this train at one time in our lives. so this song does hit home for me. steve
  • Paul from London, EnglandThe lyrics to this song are absolutely beautiful. After loving this song for so many years I understand the true meaning of this and I know what it's like to have someone who keeps coming in and out of my life breaking my heart and when I'm back on my feet again I give them another chance only to find myself back in the same square again.
